PREMIER STELMACH'S RECORD
How has Premier Stelmach "Stonewalled" Dr. D. Anderson and all Albertans? Following, is a chronological order of questions and statements presented directly to Premier Stelmach by letter as well as copies of letters to members of his Cabinet showing names and dates:
(Note: Premier Stelmach didn't have the courtesy to acknowledge receipt of a single letter, yet alone answer any questions or comment on any statements for over three years and THIS IS ONGOING!).
1. "You will see that there is a serious problem concerning the CPSA. The College approved of patient neglect with needless suffering, and thereby eroded the quality of the Canadian Medicare System. This behavior must be changed" (Stelmach-Dec. 3/07).
2. "It would appear that the Medical Profession Act does not provide for a resolution of complaints against those who submit lies in an investigation of patient complaints (College Staff) and those who approve of those lies and close a patient complaint file based on those lies (College Council). A JUST HEARING (APPEAL) would not allow the accused to serve as their own judges. I'm fighting for justice to improve our Canadian Medicare System AND WISH YOUR HELP. I await your clarification on this issue". (Stevens-Jan. 14/08).
3. "Please find enclosed copies of my letter to all Councilors of the CPSA (Jan. 9/08) & the Hon. Dave Hancock (Jan. 14/08). I trust that you will see the lack of justice presented in these letters and will assist me in correcting this and improving our Canadian Medicare System" (Stelmach-Jan. 14/08).
4. "You will see that the Hon. Dave Hancock has still to clarify the issues that I have identified" (Stelmach-Jan. 31/08)
5. "Why would the College not want the truth conveyed to the Public & The News Media? Could this be related to the fact that the President of the Council of CPSA. Dr. James Bell, conveyed in a letter to Dr. D. Anderson dated Apr. 25/07 'Further communication to me with regards to this issue is not only inappropriate, but it also is putting me in a position of BIAS as such time an appeal does come before our Council'. When I have accused all College Council Members of LACK OF ETHICS (my letter to all Council members dated Jan. 9/08), how can three of these Council members then serve both as the accused and the judges of my complaints? Is this not a 'Banana Republic Kangaroo Court?' If the Public is not informed - is a PUBLIC ENQUIRY NOT REQUIRED? The Medical Profession Act must be reformed. I am asking the Gov. of Alberta to give the public their due justice. I would appreciate your prompt reply in addressing my concerns". (Stelmach Mar. 19/08).

11. "To date you have only sent one letter to Dr. Anderson (dated Dec. 19/07). Your requested clarification has not been received. When might one expect to receive your clarification?"

12. "This is the first of two notices that will be sent to you requesting your personal payment of $ 2000 to compensate Douglas L. Anderson MD., FRCS(C) for the anxiety he suffered in his numerous attempts to contact you and the costs of sending numerous letters that were completely ignored by you".
(Ms. P. Meade July 16/08).
13. "This is the first of two notices that will be sent to you requesting your personal payment of $ 2000 to compensate Douglas L. Anderson, MD., FRCS(C) for his anxiety in numerous attempts to contact you and the cost of sending numerous letters, that were completely ignored by you". (Hancock July 16/08).
14. "Your prompt response is requested" (Ron Liepert Aug. 11/08).
15. "Please find enclosed a copy of my letter to Hon. R. Liepert dated Aug.11/08. I have received no communication from Mr. Liepert since sending him my first letter dated March 19, 2008".

16. "As Premier of the Alberta Government, the Public await your prompt reply". (Stelmach Aug. 20/08)
17. "The Hon. D. Hancock in his letter to me dated March 25/08 has deposited my file in your hands. In my letter to you dated Aug. 11/08 I have asked you important questions for which I have yet to receive your answers. When might I expect to receive a response from you?" (Liepert Sept. 17/08).
18. "Would you kindly respond to my entry in my letter of Aug. 20/08 to Premier Stelmach which states
'Dr. Anderson's Registered Letter dated Jan 14/08 to Hon. Ron Stevens concerning a serious problem with the CPSA was ignored as well as many subsequent mailings! Dr. Anderson has yet to receive any communication from Mr. R. Stevens. WHY? (R. Stevens Sept. 17/08).
19. "In addition to answering the questions, a humble apology from you would be a minimum gesture on your part!". (Hancock Sept. 17/08).
20. "Would you kindly respond to my entry in my letter of Aug. 20/08 to Premier Stelmach which states 'In her communications with Dr. Anderson of Apr. 17/08 & July 29/08 she dismissed Dr. Anderson without addressing the above questions! WHY?' " (Hon. A. Redford Sept. 17/08).
21. Albertans expect you as their Premier to take responsibility for the performance of your ministers. Please respond at your earliest convenience. ((Stelmach Sept. 17/08).
22. "I am publishing a book entitled 'Rot at the Top' (How Health Care Authorities in Alberta Ignore Patient Neglect and Needless Suffering). I am attempting to obtain material from all recipients of the Anderson Journal on the Hon. Dave Hancock and its Addendum in order to get a balanced overview to be published in 'Rot at th Top'. Much of the material for this book has been received. I am inviting you to contribute material for this book. As a recipient of both the Anderson Journal on the Hon. Dave Hancock (July 2008) and its Addendum (Oct.. 2008), do you have any comments or material that you wish to contribute to this book? One section of this book will be covering the The Government of Alberta. Please find enclosed copies of my letters of this date sent to Dave Hancock, Alison Redford, Ron Stevens, Linda Miller and Dr. Trevor Theman.
Between Dec. /07 & Sept. /08 I sent you over 24 Registered Letters outlining my frustration over Patient Neglect & Needless Suffering that was ignored by several of your ministers of Justice & Health and Wellness. You have not given me the courtesy of acknowledging receipt of any of these letters. Please find enclosed a copy of my document that I sent to the Health Quality Council of Alberta on March 17/10 entitled 'Ministers of the Stelmach Government Refuse to Answer Surgeon's Questions'. Also enclosed is a copy of my document 'Linda Miller Refuses to Acknowledge Receipt of Surgeon's Letters on Patient Neglect & Needless Suffering'. Albertans asked you important questions and were denied answers because of PRIVACY LEGISLATION!
Your contribution to this book would be appreciated". (Stelmach Aug. 20/10).
23. "Please find enclosed copies of correspondence between me and the Registrar of the CPSA, Dr. T. Theman. The CPSA protects its medical doctor members at the expense of protecting the public.

Reforms to the CPSA are required. Changes must be made in the Investigative and Appeal processes that the CPSA now uses in addressing patient complaints.
Please find enclosed a copy of my document 'Ministers of Stelmach Gov. Refuse to Answer Surgeon's Questions' which was sent to the Health Quality Council of Alberta in Mar./10, & was sent to you numerous times in the past. Also is enclosed a copy of my letter to Dr. J. Cowell, CEO of HQCA dated Dec. 2/10.
Your suggestions on reforms to the CPSA are appropriate. Your answers to the surgeon's four questions are required by all Albertans! I await your reply". (Stelmach Jan. 12/11).
24. "Please find enclosed copies of my letter to you dated Aug. 20/10, Oct. 13/10, Oct. 27/10. I have requested replies to these letters. You have not replied. When may I expect your reply?

ALBERTANS TO JUDGE PREMIER ED STELMACH
1. Stelmach has not acknowledged receipt of any communication from Dr. Anderson for over a period of three and one half years.
2. Stelmach has ignored all questions and issues raised by Dr. D. Anderson.
3. Stelmach has ignored Patient Neglect & Needless Suffering of Albertans.
4. Stelmach refuses to make necessary reforms to the CPSA to prevent future incompetent patient investigations which put patients at risk.
5. Stelmach refuses to consider a Public Enquiry to resolve this serious problem.
THIS BLOG SITE - "MEDICS FAIL TO SELF-REGULATE" - WILL SERVE AS AN IMPORTANT AVENUE FOR PUBLIC DISCUSSION AIMED AT PREMIER STELMACH AND HIS CABINET.
